I was curator of the first borough-wide literary festival in Waltham Forest – Words over Waltham Forest. The festival ran from 26 October -17 November 2013 and hosted language and literary inspired events in all forms – spoken word, on the page, in art, performance, and in every day communications. The programme included over 100 events and projects featuring local community groups and artists as well as Poet Laureate Carol Ann Duffy, best selling crime writer Martina Cole and poet John Hegley. The Words over Waltham Forest festival was a collaboration between Artillery, Waltham Forest Libraries, Waltham Forest Arts and Education Network, MENCAP and Arts in Waltham Forest (Apex Arts). Festival sponsors included Waterstones and Biblographic Data Services.
